Buying Advice: Pressurized vs. Depressurized
Pressurized balls (like all the balls above) come in sealed cans and offer a lively, responsive bounce. They're the standard for competitive play. The downside? They lose pressure over time -- expect to replace them every 2-4 sessions of heavy play.
Depressurized (pressure-less) balls last much longer because their bounce comes from the rubber itself, not internal pressure. They feel slightly heavier and less bouncy at first but are great for training and casual play when you want balls that last weeks, not days.
When to change: If the ball feels "dead" or flat, it's time. A good test: drop the ball from shoulder height. A fresh pressurized ball should bounce back to roughly waist height. If it barely reaches your knees, swap them out.

Why Padel-Specific Shoes Matter
Padel involves constant lateral movement, quick stops, and explosive direction changes. Running shoes or generic trainers lack the lateral support and will wear out fast on artificial grass. Look for a herringbone sole pattern -- it's designed specifically for padel and clay courts, providing grip without collecting sand. Good padel shoes also feature reinforced toe caps (you'll be dragging your foot on serves) and cushioned midsoles for shock absorption.

When to Change Your Grip
A worn grip is one of the most common (and most easily fixed) problems in padel. If your overgrip looks shiny, feels slippery, or has lost its tackiness, it's time for a fresh one.
Rule of thumb: Replace your overgrip every 3-5 playing sessions if you sweat moderately, or after every session if you sweat heavily. The base grip underneath should be replaced every 2-3 months or whenever it feels compressed and flat.
Pro tip: Keep a spare overgrip in your bag at all times. A slippery grip mid-match can ruin your game and even lead to the racket flying out of your hand.
